Lyrics

“Faded Away”

Yuh life, Have no price tag yuh must be stupid
Yuh damn right
Buju Banton Kabaka Pyramid Jr Gong Jr Bines
He who seeks of only vanity has no love for humanity shall ade away
Fade awayyyy
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
He that checks for only wealth and not for his physical health shall fade away
Fade awayyyy

Accurate Immaculate
Skibbly Beng
Dem a move too wild a run dung coil
Wah dat dem a do fi boost up them profile
Dem a tek it too far, more than miles
Di example them a set fi black woman and child
Dem sell out fi dolla bills and silver coins
Subliminally children a get hypnotized
By dem tun teenager dem start improvise
Start carry gun and tek one bagga lives
Accurate

Dem she money a dem God and dem nuh need no odda
Some a dem really nuh know dem selves
Uno act like uno happy yet uno envy the bredda
Your soul is better than unearthly wealth
My friend yuh better know yourself
We see dem a guh a stray and dem nuh wah no help
Di Fada ago beat them with a golden belt
These thoughts I won’t keep to myself

He who seeks of only vanity has no love for humanity shall ade away
Fade awayyyy
Skibbly beng
He that checks for only wealth and not for his physical health shall fade away
Fade awayyyy
Fade away
Accurate

To be poor it is a crime but look pan who a do the time
Spending trillions on war while couple billion nuh have a dime
And the richest country dem wah full a gold and full a oil
Dem instigating tribal war and economic genocide
And dung inna di ghetto dem a come a sell wi lies
And mek a bag a promises all now cah verify
But this ya revolution will not be televised
Di rasta man a open every eyes, so all can see

The rich is getting richer everyday
And the little that the poor man got will be taken away
Do you hear what I say
Ayy hear what I say

Di one percent weh own the wealth keep all to themselves
While the sufferas haffi tighten dem belt
Di preacher make some money and ain’t tell the congregation
The lord helps those who help themselves
The leaders are like caesars, leeches and deceivers
The worst of mankind now shows itself
We have seen the transition there is no love for creation
Each and every man a look out fi themselves
Dem seh

He who seeks of only vanity has no love for humanity shall fade away
Fade awayyyy (fade)
He that checks for only wealth and not for his physical health shall fade away
Fade awayyyy (fade)

The sound of Reggae is widely recognised because of its acoustically formed bass and drum downbeat, and its offbeat rhythm section. With such a diversity in style it is also considered complex enough to attract progressively minded musicians. A music that has a strong association with dance covering a variety of styles while also offering a background beat for those sharing Biblical chants of Zion. It is hard to ignore Reggae’s influence and how it interacts with our day-to-day lives. Shared as background music for films and advertising driving its heavy bass lines literally felt wherever rock and pop are played. Reggae has an affinity with mainstream British pop; recognised within the hip-hop culture and considered “cool” by those with no connection to Jamaica. As lovers of reggae my aim is to build a community of reggae followers that can share thoughts, news, events as listeners, artists, DJ’s and hosts.
