Dancehall singjay Shenseea, has joined the Ministry of Health and Wellness in urging Jamaicans to protect themselves and adhere to the current COVID-19 protocols.
The ‘Trending Gyal’ deejay used her single of the same name, to create a dub to boost the ministry’s current public health campaign.
In a series of posts across their social media platforms, the ministry shared the video of Shenseea refixing the lyrics of her popular song to include lines such as “sanitise or get hospitalised”, ” keep the numbers down protect yourself and the people around.”
The new video campaign from the ministry comes amid calls from Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jacquiline Bisasor-Mckenzie, for younger persons to be more cautious, and reduce social gatherings, to avoid an increase in exposure and infections.
Jamaica recorded 328 new cases on Friday, the highest tally of new cases in a 24 hour period, a jump from the 263 recorded on Thursday. for a total of 16,841 confirmed cases.
Total confirmed cases now stand at 16,841, with 4,079 active.
