Meet The Vitals 808 A Story Of Love Loss and The Love Of Reggae Music

Diving deep into the heart of reggae music, Vitals 808 brings a fresh wave of rhythm and soul, evoking the timeless spirit of this genre. With a name that hints at both vitality and perhaps a nod to the Hawaiian area code, this band effortlessly fuses traditional reggae beats with contemporary sounds.

While the history of reggae music spans decades and continents, Vitals 808 has found a unique space within this narrative, introducing listeners to a distinct blend of melodies that resonate with both the past and the present. Whether you’re a lifelong reggae enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, Vitals 808 offers a musical journey that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

Established in 2013, we have retained the majority of our original members, including Keahi Piiohia, Cyd Kamakea, Ata Boy Rosa, and Brandon Berinobis.  The newest member of the vocal team, Asaiah “the Maad King” Scott, joined the team during the summer of 2018 after the exit of Nainoa Heffernan who is concentrating on his beautiful family.  Our steady backline with Guy Heresa, Darin Garcia, and Lapana Ieriko help us to remember that the collective is so much more than concentrating on the front line.

The release of our EP in 2014 contained their first breakout hit “Fake Lover” which established their ability to reach Hawai’i’s reggae listeners.  Other songs on the EP, including “Natural Woman” and “Kahalu’u’s Crying” also enjoyed local radio airplay and showcased the diversity of our teams abilities. Since then, we have released a full-length album and a second EP, and have been bless to showcase collaborations with “Lion Fiyah”, Bo Napoleon.
