Bass mavericks LQ and Misled Convoy join forces to create the gnarly “Twice the Dub”.
Reflecting the duo’s shared passion for bass-heavy grooves and experimental soundscapes, “Twice the Dub” was spawned during an all night session spent swapping files between the musical meccas of Auckland and Melbourne. As the night grew darker, the audio flying back and forth across the Tasman became more and more twisted, almost warping the sub-sea cables. As the sun rose on the Pacific, the tune finally found it’s form with the probing bassline settling under a tough rhythm.
LQ’s System Mix of “Twice the Dub” recently debuted on Echo Chamber Sounds’ exclusive “A Decade Of Dubplates” while Misled Convoy’s unruly Solar Mix appears on the 3rd installment of his Translations series, a kaleidoscope of remixes that defies easy categorisation.
