INTI comes from a family of musicians. His father is the Peruvian musician Luis Ayvar Alfaro, his mother and grandfather are music teachers. Music played a prominent role in his life from an early age. He shares an intense musical connection with his brother Chaski, which led to the founding of the reggae band Memoria in 2012, with several EP releases and plenty of show including big festivals like Summerjam, Reggae Jam, Rototom, Juicy Beats, Ruhr Reggae Summer and many others.
In 2021, he release his first single „Dem Do Wrong“ as a solo artist and now follows up with his debut album. This release is a project from the heart and features some big names from the Cologne and Jamaican reggae scene like Chezidek, Akeem Garrison, Kapital Stone, Ras Pyton, his brother Chaski, Josi BigFinga Coppola (drummer for Gentleman), and Oshane Campbell (drummer for Freddie McGregor).
The result is an album with 11 track and that INTI not just wrote himself, but also produced and mixed. The songs deal with the big issues of the time, cohesion and community, social injustice, corruption and the long struggle with the legacy of colonial structures. On the other hand, there are also positive subjects like the love for the nature, people and (of course) music.
Musically, the album moves across a wide spectrum of stylistic elements. Full intros characterise the songs and the melodic verses are carried by INTI’s expressive voice. A roots reggae album with influences from rebel tunes to lovers rock as well as dub, rap, rock and backing vocals from the Huayno.
