Causion Returns With A New Track Called Thank You After Major Surgery

It’s said that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Causion can certainly identify with that age-old adage. Since being diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer four years ago, the Antiguan singer has walked a tightrope, balancing periods of hopelessness and resilience. The change in moods brought on by his life-changing diagnosis, inspired Thank You. He wrote the somber single and co-produced it with Maurice Gregory, his longtime creative partner.

“Thank You is very personal to me. I wrote that song at a time when there was a lot of stress going on in my life and even though all the things seem to be going in the opposite direction, I was still grateful for all the things that my Father had given me and had blessed me with,” he said.

Thank You is the follow-up to the patriotic Antigua me Come From, a nod to his homeland. It is released one year after Causion underwent major surgery in his fight against colon cancer. Since then, he has returned to writing, recording and producing songs. Causion also made his acting debut in Deep Blue, a movie produced and directed by his compatriots, Howard and Mitzi Allen. Playing Leroy in that film has whetted his appetite for acting, but Causion is looking forward to releasing his new EP, Mission in Progress, this summer.

Born Gregory Bailey, the South Florida-based artist has been recording music for over 30 years and has toured the United States and Europe with Grammy-nominated band Third World.
