Amaul is a uniquely melodic and soulful reggae artiste from the Caribbean currently residing in Cologne, Germany.
A demanded songwriter for soca music around the island of Barbados, Amaul is now following his passion for reggae as a singer in his own right.
His repertoire of songs includes lover’s rock (Good Loving Gone – 2015), dancehall (Storybook – 2018) and roots reggae (Herb Farmer – 2020). Each song evokes different emotions in the listener in a positive toe-tapping kind of manner, even-though they are not the same genres of music.
Having spent his childhood in Georgetown, Guyana and his adolescence on the island of Barbados, Amaul’s musical expression is shaped by various aspects of Caribbean culture. Amaul was born into a family who is passionate about music and it was there where his own passion for music was born.
Amaul has described himself as a reggae artist because he feels very connected to that genre of music. He has been inspired by the music of reggae greats such as Burning Spear, Culture, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff and Beres Hammond, to name a few.
Amaul is a soft-spoken young man who is determined and anxious to make his mark on the music industry. However, he is aware that his baptism into that self-same industry will not be an easy one, but he is poised to make it, a meaningful one.
