Marcia Griffiths has been presented with the inaugural Red Stripe Living Legend Award by Ben Sinclair, junior brand manager at Johnnie Walker. The inaugural Red Stripe Living Legend Award was presented to a surprised and appreciative Marcia Griffiths on stage at Intimate. The supportive crowd fully endorsed the presentation and cheered when the citation was read aloud by emcee Jenny Jenny.

This surprise unfolded at the end of her fabulous performance. During her time on stage, the Queen of Reggae held court, and so special was her performance that showers of blessings rained down on Grizzly’s Plantation Cove prior to her grand entrance on stage.

She sang songs such as Stepping Outta Babylon, and How Does It Feel When Your Baby Is Gone, a 1970 oldie but goodie. Griffiths paused to wish her fans more life, much love and blessings. “We could spend hours paying tribute to our legends,” she said as she unleashed a tribute segment.

It was from one Bob to another when Sister Marcia pulled for Bob Marley’s Redemption Song after she properly remembered her dear, late friend and collaborator, Bob Andy, with Young Gifted and Black.

I’ve waited all my life for you was her message in the song just before 11 p.m. It was a duet with her son, and she even took time to explain the relationship. “We have performed this song together several times, and people always wonder if is her young boyfriend. No… he is my son, and I am so proud of him. “

A rousing Electric Boogie with dancers from the audience wrapped up an incredible performance.
