Mama Queen, the Reggae gem of the Spring not to be missed!
Amahji takes us on a powerful ode that puts the sacred feminine back at the heart of our lives. This tribute to Mama Queen, the great mother goddess, is a mystical dive into nature, its cycles, its gentleness, and its strength.
Amahji celebrates the arrival of Spring and the return of light by advocating for the love of living beings and a return to the original source.
“Mama Queen” is carried by modern and effective sounds accompanied by a strong aesthetic clip. Rico Gaultier‘s participation perfectly sublimates this musical gem.
A first title extracted from the EP “Amahji” (release on 05/19/23) which strikes hard and makes us eagerly await the next tracks of this promising artist.
AMAHJI
Amahji is a complete artist, singer, author, composer and performer. She took her first steps in the underground scene of Paris city. Her musical universe is shaped by freestyles in jam sessions, sound systems and travels. The roots reggae, whether Jamaican or English, has greatly influenced her, particularly artists such as Peter Tosh or Hollie Cook.
Strongly committed to equality and justice, Amahji delivers powerful messages in which different emotions intertwine. Combining rebellion and meditation, she demands that “One Love” and equal rights apply to women, she accompanies men towards a more humanized masculinity and sings the magic of nature with passion.
In 2022, she met her backing band Yonate. Together, they combine their energies to create a live set with roots and dub vibes, based on Amahji’s compositions, and then go to the recording studio. She is now ready to share her first EP and begins a series of concerts to present it to the public.
