The original riddim was released as a digital single in 2023 entitled Forward Melodicas with Med Dred and Shaky Norman
(the riddim has been in the Top 10 Outernational Chart 2023 on R&D Vibes / Radio Sonar in Italy).
Since then, the instrumental has been played on radio shows around the world, events and Soundsystem gatherings in Cyprus, with Gambian vocalist Starlight chanting on Med Dred’s riddim about his life as a refugee in Cyprus and receiving a great feedback, with people asking to release a vocal version on that riddim. This is how RESIDENT was created! ❤️💛💚
The time has come to finally drop RESIDENT on a special special edition 7 inch polyvinyl dubplate. It is cut on a limited run of 50 hand-numbered copies and it includes on the a side the vocal version by Starlight and on the b side a special dub by Med Dred!
